Unfortunately I do not have enough hours left in the day by the time I finish work to tackle many of these things. I am frantically scribbling things down on bits of paper and leaving visual reminders everywhere so that hopefully I don't forget anything before I have a chance to make them. I feel I am in a manic phase - which is probably a good thing as I have markets on Sunday I am getting ready for so a slump right now would not be a good thing at all!<br /></div><p align="center"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5408196722146840658" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 256px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 199px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgakRH1ymnjwX9kmOyHR0pUnhRJL_1_7bq8J69lHsIra2tGFnFJbnIgOrHlYcvM7zBRV5OaZpBd2RRuCQpgry2CKUfHd0PiSCjkEqMeClHh3VIAwLu8VtySGYtGytzZwknIVo1nBruOPUnY/s320/photoiphone.jpg" border="0" /></p><div align="center">this collection of goodies is begging to be made into some phone sox - the colours are cute as and self striping too - can't wait!</div><div align="center"><br /></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5408198315845050562" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfFmhAH_DhMBI4H4cNpcaibUGOcSE4f4eNscQazeW6aMB7FM39w6TIclYdhjshjlwqnbr5OBUqHZzBXvrxClKB_-yoeF904QJ9p64Y5UDugPstKlqj_ZlAN7fM-axidQU0HkC67qdvmQID/s320/whitestars.jpg" border="0" /> <p align="center"> these babies are on the table blocking and waiting to be joined together in a christmas banner, a bit like...</p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5408198590260630818" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJX2FtIAh9Gr48Gafst95gRzMZNZbE_Y_rsWY4Pl7f10-wTRWMEivonjgcU3edYYoCWYJE_uBtrpHw5DGXq8fBT2mrB65hOZYKe1nrvsSx0zzi8yjDp3irbXkZi2nmXDNRSg-Lh5CH6ZXm/s320/banners.jpg" border="0" /><br /><p align="center">these!</p><p align="center">Also on the table are crocheted flowers waiting to be attached to hair ties (that is the blue wool in the corner of the photo of the white stars - I did take a photo but it was a bit blurry....well it was early okay!), a ball of red wool to remind me that I want to make a set of birds as well as the packet of hair ties to remind me of all the flowers I still need to crochet and attach. Not a lot of people around again (it was a truly horrible day) but we did okay despite that.</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-GvDrtfO_6-kT542QNTfhZJcSIu1YzQhhF8IM3MywskYt6Q5-HqmMkWxjF1yjNiqW7ZyRKgJTmtHyzuAE83751EZv9-2sgbzOlDvVCDgQDT6-xdjic6P5j877rYVg_h65ove2_FSxe4Pf/s1600-h/markets%20270909%5B3%5D.jpg"><img title="markets 270909" style="border-top-width: 0px; display: block; border-left-width: 0px; float: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border-right-width: 0px" height="348" alt="markets 270909" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPcqzhxRWTap93AK6aKKf_5TRUiJiVY971mh5dkKwwWDRy7wVWl1qZB4Ty0uE33fltGC_NHVEgu3WcMFvQO724El_Q_vvY4_GOTUPh_jYp4hK0f1WawcCmPlrB7pkML2N90MjDqjTPiWHO/?imgmax=800" width="265" border="0" /></a> </p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2tjN087ZkUV_nJC1QBw_NH9CtyYhBtgPlz88ceEAYdl9p5wVnpQBr1zqyZuZpMHiTi-3xnU6gPBN-NT8u43RbrzT9CKPEv-J6OUiMXLu-a7AfVZQJuyXdCh2wsHwXySn6iq42Je2Y4fez/s1600-h/markets270909%5B3%5D.jpg"><img title="markets270909" style="border-top-width: 0px; display: block; border-left-width: 0px; float: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border-right-width: 0px" height="331" alt="markets270909" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiXFAJriCZWpyhHWVdMbkDlzFVzE1Mt_TeXGoRCKp3axDU1STRtKzcCdd53mZvwdL72_kEj_D6D_wVRKCymEfv_kL76W9TmEWvyhXA9C0K-EJXPvGT6DovjpGaUElp_Xqp_6FmiEnN-_7V/?imgmax=800" width="252" border="0" /></a> </p> <p>We now both have our regulars as well which is quite comforting – you know, that they actually want to come and buy something else from us!! I can’t speak for Leesa of course but I am constantly surprised that anyone wants to give me money for my knitting – probably shouldn’t spread that around I guess, keep it to yourselves won’t you!! We are both busy gearing up for the run-up to Christmas and hoping sales will skyrocket.</p> <p>On the home front we have had builders in for a bit more than a month now and, fingers xxx’d, we will have a functioning bathroom this evening – well except for the toilet that is – that will be sorted early next week and until then we still have the old one to use. So our open air showering days are over!!! Isn’t it funny how you just fall back into the same patterns with close friends – like, we have literally not laid eyes on each other since my biggest boy was a baby and as he is just about to turn 18 that was quite a while ago – of course we have kept in touch via e-mail, photos, this blog and the occasional phone call – but it was like we had just seen each other a week ago – we still laughed about the same things we always did, she certainly still looks the same and all in all it was a fantastic visit – brief but satisfying…thanks Pip – it was really great to see you again – may it not be another 17 years before we see you again – but of course it won’t be will it…we will see you in January right?</p> <p align="left">Caitie, Maibz and I also managed to fit in a flying visit to Warialda to see the Piggy Queen – you know how I love to do that and once again we were not disappointed – again, all too quick but far better than not having seen her at all!</p> <p align="left">So that about wraps up what we have been getting up to to on the home/family/craft front – not a whole lot of knitting going on but I did finally get around to the whole knitting with fabric thing (see below) which has been fun and has opened up a few possibilities for future projects so I shall keep you posted – in the meantime enjoy the pics and let me know if anything takes your fancy.</p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_YILTBeEkFqo/Stb0d206o7I/AAAAAAAAASo/aHkBVuFcD1M/s1600-h/PA130550%5B3%5D.jpg"><img title="PA130550" style="border-top-width: 0px; display: block; border-left-width: 0px; float: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border-right-width: 0px" height="317" alt="PA130550" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1MNxB-qkKJYetmhtyZ6IiG7A181izdkQK-bXkiB_gOfm_5PFO82VPW9V57JjTTiFrk6eFKIp2JzffcdHwmkOba3BPPNzYHGOFB0ew4xwxotbjlSqO23FOVTQjcoLAgSDudgCkS2tnLzqN/?imgmax=800" width="241" border="0" /></a> <em>take an old sheet, some chunky needles and a couple of hours and…</em><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLBXm2jnXBrqdNrQSSOKFJkjOGK6Lz8d0uEqXC_MKz57gmlU7hrBwM1unD45AEJ1E6ReNHMzWwoiZkWkBYCg1AebnCQLXtbU9aW2LbIUosezeEUOAtxzCHeP_qdZvgmgMFNMdfO1xjX4Mg/s1600-h/PA130552%5B3%5D.jpg"><em><img title="PA130552" style="border-top-width: 0px; display: block; border-left-width: 0px; float: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border-right-width: 0px" height="242" alt="PA130552" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_YILTBeEkFqo/Stb0hLjGO1I/AAAAAAAAAS0/HeIyQWIdwpo/PA130552_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="318" border="0" /></em></a><em>voila! a new bath mat – this also gives you a hint of what the floor in the bathroom looks like! </em></p> <p align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhn8_KUEbo8-378ZNU1_I-ijO3hT7X0WaiYpIfbBbtopKrzKyDsfRA-BR6-Q2G8_MxagxSbcvNOIQYKtJRAiPdrc8LWKh6ZJZ_VXS5D1N8txJuEanFSWIeoDWyt8v9Xy8aYVjGVAzHDUpst/s1600-h/PA140556%5B5%5D.jpg"><img title="PA140556" style="border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; border-left-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; border-right-width: 0px" height="153" alt="PA140556" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLhWec6nArhbDr-Cm-U7S8lLE5mZf3qCCJZvJ0MYnSpmE8s_KCQ5LcYLqoDm-XLbhrin7e8IazX5vRc8i461GSQ6q1OkJ00UzPDYhyphenhyphenUk51bO8vvwLhf1yRqlc2qUr-9gByYaov4GhbtqWE/?imgmax=800" width="195" align="left" border="0" /></a> </p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_YILTBeEkFqo/Stb0k5SF01I/AAAAAAAAATE/uUaRq83VQ7w/s1600-h/PA140557%5B3%5D.jpg"><img title="PA140557" style="border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; border-left-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px" height="153" alt="PA140557" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_YILTBeEkFqo/Stb0lwqbUvI/AAAAAAAAATI/lfkbhtzYMk8/PA140557_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="201" border="0" /></a> </p> <p align="center"><em>…and a little bit more fabric and a crochet hook and tada! Seriously, it was keeping me awake at night.</p> <p>I wanted a fairy doll. Deliciously soft made with cotton and bamboo, in my signature colour scheme of pink and whits (of course), with beautiful lacy wings on her back.</p> <p>The doll I could do – it was the wings that were keeping me up nights – how would I make them, I wanted them slightly stiffened – how was I to do that. I made one prototype which were a disaster – went away for a few days and came back to it with fresh eyes and came up with these…</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi01wVT8Oa3YVpQ2UDvuRwLl6FDbMhQhTinbvtwZGQ-4NWFbG2s1dFGm-8A_6INrJD85UawCQ8mwIuVNFl_h23V7w8xHQqUI5s8DxN7dF_dGOawsZ7dXaLctaNU8eUum0f_noakwLjpRbQB/s1600-h/P8270432%5B3%5D.jpg"><img title="P8270432" style="border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-bottom: 0px" height="260" alt="P8270432" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjp7phL-23CLr-cnUrDfu2N2E9OvZk5TYxlTHQItw_pBEI9so6L83TyXpGTOXq2BddIlqY6enCjMu696NmiZknn8k3p-Q_1ZzV67f5FTfoHEjESHw_c1kwrAMZZhFdYLWPPXE7mVJYXPDZ7/?imgmax=800" width="342" border="0" /></a> Sooo – I was happy with the overall look of them (the colours are really not working for me tonight in any of the posts) now I had to work out how to stiffen them. After a brutally (not really) honest comment  left by my sister suggesting that the eyebrows were taking away from her overall ‘cuteness’ I had a really good look at the doll again. I came to the realisation that she really was kind of “Brooke Shieldsesque” – and sooooo not in a good way – so it was off with the brows and voila! I think she does look cuter. I so totally do not know why I even put eyebrows on her but you can now all relax knowing that it won’t happen again!!!!</p> <p> </p> <p>Feel better? I was asked to make her by a friend for her to give as a gift – it turns out the gift is for the new baby that was recently born to my cousin and his wife. Their second daughter which was lovely. Anyway, it is kind of nice that she will, kind of, stay in the family. I like her – a.lot.</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_YILTBeEkFqo/SnK0DkGo6JI/AAAAAAAAAKQ/112XtFKeM2M/s1600-h/P7300299%5B2%5D.jpg"><img title="P7300299" style="border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-bottom: 0px" height="244" alt="P7300299" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMPkk-qaKHcEzLeGapBUNIUtT3Ilg2Uanm8_xCt-hZZLd77qlkwa3Z96we_vpf8TpLTx1nz_P40RIpEWEe26qG_UTMkXjJMK3dkqgabsZ2XiOxyag3QrtbdOkU-SJZPdQwBAj9VgkEWG-C/?imgmax=800" width="184" border="0" /></a> </p> <p>This one has been sitting in a container making an appearance at the last couple of markets – but no takers. That no one has shown any great interest in her I like to blame on the fact she was made in a big hurry as I needed a doll to display at the first markets we did. I liked her but I wasn’t lovin’ her, and I think that vibe shone through. Anyway, last night, after finishing off the above little lady with a different (cuter?) dress than I usually do, I decided that maybe the poor neglected dolly would do better with a new dress. So, there she is…better, certainly, but am I lovin’it yet? </p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhv5i1kJizxZyDjNvpRUU4_iwjiLSkFtXp3rztG_HgHu5Y7MkiExSgp73LNio7W2vt8YYtT6gaERwd5Jau3l8_W90YNBDlVolFW3-YcxYEUfhR6MbH_uXbwD3S6M32xJ9Dz-I0DdnOcYkYY/s1600-h/P7310301%5B2%5D.jpg"><img title="P7310301" style="border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-bottom: 0px" height="244" alt="P7310301" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_YILTBeEkFqo/SnK0GdLD2lI/AAAAAAAAAKc/pZLR3oTWxM4/P7310301_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="184" border="0" /></a> </p> <p>I am still undecided. It was great. Photos of my mummy and daddy when they were young – courting photos and wedding photos – delicious.</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiynUq8EUNzQWMT3XnB79AUdrqCweXpzK-jzhelmtM2nFkx885L8O_ThIxbrxgUuKQ4NDoEh0iZOR3J9KL_eTir8WuWfXNccscqqo94HhwPPSeBmlFop7c6_NybuXF_Lythoh6qtZfvNo7G/s1600-h/Mary_and_Max_at_a_ball%5B2%5D.jpg"><img title="Mary_and_Max_at_a_ball" style="border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-bottom: 0px" height="153" alt="Mary_and_Max_at_a_ball" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBn-E13uGI39CoEsPWpfce91Afj6kvlTnmDKPnaqLOxuARVOXGqOjNBujGtAJzvx-CjnKEeY6XSxRXwiNwlxlAIFvdy0dD9zzwtk1AW_VFKA9PYo4lAs36E-1EbKfIuMUKhAfm1zrLzbsp/?imgmax=800" width="244" border="0" /></a> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKNhEOk5nEp-bFWUDpqniP5rx0psxUaTVoGNY8i5rhswn7-pkJvsHF2ogHtfxbMvr9vCDzhHnAtd2PVjrowv3tgzVLPcONa8mZhgexPmCHayiagc0lf2qJf8adxzNfjfW0LI7LszAbv_la/s1600-h/Mary_and_Max_wedding_at_car%5B2%5D.jpg"><img title="Mary_and_Max_wedding_at_car" style="border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-bottom: 0px" height="244" alt="Mary_and_Max_wedding_at_car" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNzxq1FLK38CtZvq1oei9r2E-Q0Sf3Y4KcUqnxsZ13Tfvvi4bAxvJrIweNNs_1BdGvQZ4PAEXn8AGrtMkFKbDSQihUhq-e5WoArE9G8w4P8ZdZm4vxNQO-rx7duy658ZNj5AMIYho51-vC/?imgmax=800" width="158" border="0" /></a> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWlBZveR9el2fy1_N4O3ccD1bQ2HM-rgzwUnK6R2eDNV22S7lOmmIPJhx51dhSpejod1vXUdx8dAPtOE-Sq87UsiVIJbPMOVeuAi0qTDjB0eM4r4GyTfb8iiAErZXHSCdxM6pGE9VdlC2V/s1600-h/Mary_wedding_flowers%5B2%5D.jpg"><img title="Mary_wedding_flowers" style="border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-bottom: 0px" height="244" alt="Mary_wedding_flowers" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-4fLekjGzaHKa4xkZlSADG1DhTSvYG57Je8AD5hbtoBLcB45Zc-3NRzrgldQpFM9_526G2vZzk22jZ_5UR1mua4BwHGFAyDlys3nOtmt6T_NrIM2FI7ierfL6-8rfGJC1LgQyFE6DNJQY/?imgmax=800" width="157" border="0" /></a> Weren’t they beautiful. So elegant and dapper in their finery. My mother always skites that daddy was able to span her waist with his hands – she is tiny and he was a tall man, so I guess it could be true. Anyway, I love these photo’s. They speak of such happy times and remind me that our parents were once young and responsibility free. Then I guess life got in the way for them too, just as it does for all of us. Seven children, hard years living on the land and then finally again, happier times – with children grown and gone and time for them to just be them again – not enough time unfortunately – but some.</p> <p></p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJm1Nmm4rev_uLahOqFoIQND2d03qcuRCZWHE1mVNZg2jlHm4Xx4lBlPFrl-SbARooVKmDOQdToqX0DgZpDDuIYM7KwDDAXEu9pytQVb0G6EtKv4UuXiez0RQgugnuJGUQ-R7DKmuIi2VX/s1600-h/Max_and_Mary_on_steps%5B2%5D.jpg"><img title="Max_and_Mary_on_steps" style="border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-bottom: 0px" height="202" alt="Max_and_Mary_on_steps" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_YILTBeEkFqo/Sm60sxMkpoI/AAAAAAAAAKM/WegGLEGKIEg/Max_and_Mary_on_steps_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" border="0" /></a></p> cillamaryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13220162737140196322noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3403504930133624111.post-44994359699475194082009-07-26T13:43:00.001+10:002009-07-26T13:43:53.334+10:00To market, to market …<p>Ok – so Leesa and I did the markets. Up and out of bed scarily early on another cold Sunday in good old Armidale. Again, not a huge turnout of either stallholders or buyers, but, we did okay. Truth be told, Leesa did very well and I did okay. It seems we take turns in doing really well. The first month Leesa sold heaps more than I did, last month I did a lot better than Lees and this month it was her turn again – can’t be fairer than that!</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_YILTBeEkFqo/SmvQ4oTlvWI/AAAAAAAAAJY/ZEe1X2XNN3A/s1600-h/P7260287%5B2%5D.jpg"><img title="P7260287" style="border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-bottom: 0px" height="244" alt="P7260287" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUp6sxUcN0j_T43DAgQ-hDdzGMdIWT8w-bDVz07RDYWmB_AtyooXBtuPbTv22kTmkAylHyMFUiI4ElI0TZR7LO0XuRdaXuzOqJ1SZjUWcK8atoyIhYj9_1rzZZpX6e4j6_G60aG1_W4dJD/?imgmax=800" width="184" border="0" /></a></p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdczHBye_IxULZ_QrCPOXHY0lV5F8XrQ5fAaBqeLda_RxRthVYX0B5OY1qMQYL7RsVTxtjaHTIB8TQtgvJ1K9qng4OZK9VEko0binL7FSgaMQCA3LXTRiTBEb0Dh8WSwBM_YFYV6vzzyS-/s1600-h/P7260288%5B2%5D.jpg"><img title="P7260288" style="border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-bottom: 0px" height="184" alt="P7260288" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_YILTBeEkFqo/SmvQ7_cBeoI/AAAAAAAAAJk/ozuyNuO-kOg/P7260288_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" border="0" /></a> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7Bbn033C0g_IPlbM266Jno_6iz3_JhgC8VIHgkstAz6_rzU4eZSglrDB4pFlIjs1bDfihre53n5gnU7WO_MDjRynmmXWaQURjhLoN56jPg_Nx8MDtzMTsztZUVvr27AwxikR8J2oFh5_y/s1600-h/P7260286%5B2%5D.jpg"><img title="P7260286" style="border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-bottom: 0px" height="184" alt="P7260286" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinIRwaVDby6Me7w3d3qJ0eMtBUTs1Vvt9_kYwYAlpkF6uatqAgLAmOS98i1K__y1eDYYZPeT1sZrdhK9q8H1t6kMFAoFpzLb1T5Tk7jjI-5uTCVJA1txJ-KxWwuZw1oNizQdG_EYgq6wBO/?imgmax=800" width="244" border="0" /></a></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p>Anyway – we will brave the weather again next month and do it all again. Ahh well what can I say - lets just all build a bridge shall we and get over it ok? Ok.<br />So....what has been haappening in the Clan's household over the last little while. Well, we got through the birthday season, the whole Christmas thing, the me being back at work full time thing, the school holidays and the start (and finish) of Term 1, 2009. And so, here we are...<br /><br />2009 so far has been a year for "me". I initiated a fitness campaign at the beginning of the year, dragging my sorry arse out of bed every morning to go walking - this was unfortunately hampered a wee bit when I tripped over an uneven bit of biketrack and broke my ankle!!! (Bloody Armidale Dumaresq Council!!!!) Hello to crutches and cast for four weeks. On the upside it did mean a week off work - which brings me to another change I made this year - finding the positves in every situation - anyhugh we got through those four weeks and the day after I had my cast removed I was out flogging the pavement once more. As a family we are avid viewers of the Biggest Loser at the moment which is very motivating and keeps me on track (most of the time anyway - I didn't walk this morning - bugger!). Lets see, what else....<br />The second born boy child started high school this year which has been traumatic to say the very least - I won't go into it here but let me just say two suspensions in seven weeks is not a good way to start your secondary schooling!!!!!<br />We had visitors from Sydney who came and spent a lovely weekend with us which was topped off by "a day at the races". And we have just returned from an all too brief trip down the "big hill" where the girls stayed at "NanandPa's" and the boys had a couple of nights on a commune - no joke - i have pictures of showers being had under downpipes (did I not mention - it poured for a good day and a half...)to prove it - ahh yes and a lovely pic of Pete's version of a long drop dunny too if anyone is interested???? No? OK! Moving on then.....<br />The children are all doing the usual children like things - eating, sleeping, fighting, growing up - you know how it is - life goes on.<br />But onto the real reason for this post...I am going to re-invent it as a forum for me to post about my knitting and other semi-crafty pursuits...and ok there will be the odd mention of the children I am sure -if anyone is interested. So check it out in the future and if any of the items take your fancy - or you know of someone who might be interested in some of my items - then please forward the link to them.<br /><br />That is it for now - I will be back soon to unveil "pinknits - handmade just for fun".<br /><br />Till then - ciao.cillamaryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13220162737140196322noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3403504930133624111.post-8912991956804119662008-09-09T12:48:00.002+10:002008-09-09T12:58:41.450+10:00Quick one...Hey there...a very quick post just to say hello to everyone. Am actually taking 5 mins at work to do this one...naughty I know but I will take it out of my lunch hour I promise!!!<br /><br />As I said this is just a very quick line to say hello before we dash out of town for a couple of days. I think I have mentioned it before - the Chief Clansman is meeting up with a bunch of old school mates for a day of golf at the illustrious Bonville Golf Course at Coffs Harbour - well that is happening this week. The children and I are tagging along purely with the hope of catching some sun and surf after what has been a long, cold winter (which continues I might add). So I hope to get away from work on time, duck home and start packing....YAY!!! I am really looking forward to it and aim to do not much more than lie by the pool and read a book while the children swim, eat some beautiful fresh fruit and veg bought along the way from our favourite fruit and veg shop just outside of Bello and that is about it...who could ask for more!<br /><br />We have been busy at home over the last few weeks doing what started as a few jobs around the house but has ended up being a relatively major reno project!! I will post some photos around that on another day - but I have to say that it is looking pretty good.<br /><br />Well I guess I have used my five minutes up now so had better get back to it...but I hope to bring you some photos of our fun in the sun when we return from our little getaway!<br /><br />Cheerscillamaryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13220162737140196322noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3403504930133624111.post-22325564954644702752008-08-22T03:13:00.007+10:002008-08-22T03:49:26.911+10:00Wee Waa 40<p align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglHT1j5LRc1a4FOle0ob3JQpz6P8LdVFEYtq5JFi7MMmwNhKceYYOXcc_y7mpr0lnap4UNxTgKLEeMHk4qRGaIZblkRm4-Z0HuqJ_l34jEVuHcArXzVpJsmkPx4I1ZZ1VoODi_KbiY-Mu3/s1600-h/Group_2.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5237027405133645010" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglHT1j5LRc1a4FOle0ob3JQpz6P8LdVFEYtq5JFi7MMmwNhKceYYOXcc_y7mpr0lnap4UNxTgKLEeMHk4qRGaIZblkRm4-Z0HuqJ_l34jEVuHcArXzVpJsmkPx4I1ZZ1VoODi_KbiY-Mu3/s320/Group_2.jpg" border="0" /></a></p><br /><br />I know, I know, finally a post about the WW40.<br /><br /><br /><div>For those of you not in the know there is a group of fantastic people that I am blessed to be able to call my friends. These are people that I have known since kindergarten, with a couple of newer ones thrown in, and despite all living in various parts of the country we all still keep in touch and try very hard to stay involved in each others lives.</div><br /><div>Over the last 18 months we have all turned 40 and so we organised recently to all meet back in good old Wee Waa and have a combined 40th birthday celebration. It was fantastic - after the first 5mins, once I realised that none of us have changed and it was like we had never been apart. A great time was had by all (from all accounts anyway) and we have all promised to do it again very soon....can someone else organise that one though please?</div><br /><div>Following are some photos - and I would like to acknowlge the work of Paul, Jo, Michael and Merredy in getting these out so quickly -I haven't even managed to download mine from my camera yet - I have, however, finally managed to unpack my suitcase!!!!</div><br /><p align="center"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5237023579412180306" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicb8mv2vgXq-J0kiTNx0cOeoPveYsJmS6oi0LhGA1SFOemRBrbaEf8ERp9mfUVo0ZsyLsN_13F79ks7SYwfF0vcmkyxHkS4y9iVjpOaDqbwGx0C2TvioeqHnpMdAEuWDq_gMoZG_gOZieU/s320/Group_shot_with_hats.jpg" border="0" /><br /><br /><span style="font-size:85%;">the WW40 Crew</span><br /></p><br /><p align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNrkzso6O9nivRuPL4isd1VO-eRLIQscFfh88VNM4aIPwtK4yl6hWKvApNzpVFQaAAfK0sRW7wfxEZyWTYDjPCSI43jgLqro4Duv4HNw9GKkEk1Tr-gxfBD1w3AQ17dqbXArxeJRXgEMn8/s1600-h/Cake+(2).jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5237024116421638034" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNrkzso6O9nivRuPL4isd1VO-eRLIQscFfh88VNM4aIPwtK4yl6hWKvApNzpVFQaAAfK0sRW7wfxEZyWTYDjPCSI43jgLqro4Duv4HNw9GKkEk1Tr-gxfBD1w3AQ17dqbXArxeJRXgEMn8/s320/Cake+(2).jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><span style="font-size:85%;">the cake</span></p><br /><p align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSodZUR4PMB2TkGLdBQpSBA6B1owKbr4AVsGc5_dn9SQCZOw1s3Sn0g8QWvIZrBHHc2MYkynGvVznvn0hrsbdD772bW415Kl6VjpxDOc6o4teb30MkDHyzy3fhIkRF0hZ7WJnrdESaP7zM/s1600-h/Group+3+(2).jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5237024877636778226" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSodZUR4PMB2TkGLdBQpSBA6B1owKbr4AVsGc5_dn9SQCZOw1s3Sn0g8QWvIZrBHHc2MYkynGvVznvn0hrsbdD772bW415Kl6VjpxDOc6o4teb30MkDHyzy3fhIkRF0hZ7WJnrdESaP7zM/s320/Group+3+(2).jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><span style="font-size:85%;"></span></p><br /><br /><p align="center"><span style="font-size:85%;">a few of us </span><span style="font-size:85%;"><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdkDHfXdmjE1wU__hr7a3xp0kvvR1aQuYjhGgoLwK7-6nI_Lo-6C2brqCJf6vFkR38YADxMTOaBan7f-9tDxdERkpnTV0jUYt73EoauUYsxPMnva8MV7pCqx20O9k4LRHYmXhrafo1ShsD/s1600-h/Cill,+Micahel+%26+Lisa+2.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5237024693426151170" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdkDHfXdmjE1wU__hr7a3xp0kvvR1aQuYjhGgoLwK7-6nI_Lo-6C2brqCJf6vFkR38YADxMTOaBan7f-9tDxdERkpnTV0jUYt73EoauUYsxPMnva8MV7pCqx20O9k4LRHYmXhrafo1ShsD/s320/Cill,+Micahel+%26+Lisa+2.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /></p><p align="center">a few more of us</p><p align="left"><span style="font-size:100%;">There is nothing quite like your old friends...</span></p><p align="left"><span style="font-size:100%;">In a couple of weeks we are off to the beach to join up with the Chief Clansman's old school buddies as they partake in their "Tour de40" so we get to do it all again. Can't sleep...again! This is not entirely unusual for me and can be attributed to any number of things. This morning it is work related and that really annoys the crap out of me to say the very least. Too many hours are wasted on work as it is without adding the early morning hours as well - anyway I thought that perhaps a cathartic "blechh" on the good old blog might see me right. I would ask you all for advice but am still processing a few things, so maybe later...<br /><br />The Chief Clansman is sleeping quietly next to me, wearing the sleep mask that normally adorns my face to protect him from the glare of the computer - yep, am typing this in bed...way too cold to sit up in the lounge room at this hour of the night/morning - the heater does not click on until 5.40!! Anyway, he doesn't really need the mask as after years in the navy (that was in another lifetime) he has the amazing capacity to sleep in any conditions - but he is humouring me...bless!<br /><br />Number one son has just switched off the TV after watching some Olympic style basketball, so the house is,once again, blissfully quiet, other than the annoying tapping of the computer keys...oh hang on, that's me!!! Ahh well (see previous post)<br /><br />Sooo, what to tell you all I wonder. I have been very busy lately, not just with work but around the house as well. I have been painting - and once I finish scraping the paint off the windows, hang some blinds back up and hang some curtains I will have officially finished my second room. I do feel a bit pleased with myself. Mind you it does come at a cost - the rest of the house has been completely neglected for the past four weeks and as per previous post it is still largely not fit for human habitation - but I am getting there and can now see some light at the end of the tunnel...thank goodness.<br /><br />My piggy queen is coming to visit this weekend which I am so looking forward to. The Piggy Queen, Lynnoi, MrsShortz and myself, have been lucky enough over the last couple of years to get away on our own for a "Girls Weekend" - this has so far seen us driving to Brisvegas where we saw "The Boy From OZ" and became Hugh Jackman's 'Armidale friends' (I will tell you more about that another time) and last year we had a weekend in Melbourne where we shopped, drank, ate and laughed and laughed. This year though we all seem to have way too much on to commit to going away anywhere so the Piggy Queen is coming to us and we get to have our weekend close to home this year - before she and her family wing their way to Africa at the end of September (lucky ducks). It will, unfortunately, be a very quick weekend and will actually be not so much a weekend as a dinner and maybe a movie - but I am totally grateful for whatever time with them I can get.<br /><br />Hmmmm what else can I tell you. The children are all well. The Number One son (previously referred to as the recalcitrant one) finally got a job yesterday. He has been employed by Subway!! To say that he has finally got a job is not entirely fair I guess though as he does have his basketball refereeing that he has been doing for awhile but is only three (sometimes four) sessions a week. But use of the word finally is justified I think when you consider that he signed himself out of school at the beginning of term and has been hanging around the house ever since - completely, I might add, ruining my two days a week leave from work, that were meant to be my first childfree days in almost 17 years!!!! So I have made it very clear he is to seek shifts (double if necessary) on Thursdays and Fridays so that I can get back to enjoying some "home alone" time!!! Anyway, we can only hope that this is the start of great things for him.<br /><br />First born daughter is still doing well at holding down her three jobs and keeping her grades up at school at the same time. She has recently chucked in piano though which has lightened her load a little I guess. She was supremely frustrated with piano lessons as they were just not challenging enough for her - she is one clever cookie that one, has a great ear, great voice, great composition skills and will, no doubt, go far.<br /><br />The rest of them are all doing well at their things with the "little" boys coming to the end of their soccer and hockey seasons and the "little" girls coming to the end of netball. They are an interesting mix to say the least - all very clever in their own way - and all very different, which is of course as it should be...six children is an awful lot really, when you think about it...and I say that seriously I am not trying to be funny - but they are all so different and all need different things from you that when you stop and think about it, it is no wonder that most of the time the Chief Clansman and I feel stretched to the limit. Which is, I guess, why we don't stop and think about it too much - for one thing, who the hell has the time to think!!!<br /><br />Ahh well...cillamaryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13220162737140196322noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3403504930133624111.post-27441311948522627352008-08-07T11:35:00.002+10:002008-08-07T11:42:58.603+10:00touching baseJust to let you all know that I am still here! Have been very busy lately re-constructing our house - children are on the move, rooms have been painted, curtains have been hung, heaters have been installed, ovens have blown up, cooktops are missing bits, new ovens and cooktops have been ordered, snow has been waited for, soccer has been played, netball has been played, hockey has been played, work has been attended, school has been attended, mice have been caught, other nocturnal visitors have been heard, gardens have been watered, skips have been filled, Austar boxes have blown up, Mystar has been ordered, clothes have been washed, birthdays are being counted down, knitting has been done, coffee's have been had, red wine has been drunk, inventive meals have been created...and all that just since last Thursday!!!!<br /><br />Whewww no wonder I feel tired!!!<br /><br />And unfortunately it is not finished yet...I would show you a picture of what the house currently looks like , but truly, it would give you nightmares!!<br /><br />See ya.cillamaryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13220162737140196322noreply@blogger.com1
